Since 1999, you have proven to be an inspirational force – illuminating my imagination, as a dancer, a choreographer, writer, collaborator and friend. With curiosity, insight and expertise you have (and continue to) fuel interests, support inquiries, and explore new territories without loosing sight of the task involved, or the primary concepts by embodying the choreographic systems that support them. I acknowledge your complete engagement in the creative process and your desire to move beyond the studio into the public sphere of performance.
It is an honour to declare this love and appreciation of mine – I want the world to know of you, and even better yet – to experience your brilliance. There has never been a rehearsal, performance or tour (in Canada, Mexico, Venezuela and the Middle East) where you haven’t performed (or conducted yourself) without conviction – a profound sense of humility, dignity, and inventiveness combined with sublime grace and humour.
You have enriched my life, contributing as a key collaborator, often taking responsibility for principal roles of in many of our productions.
Together, we have laughed and cried over life and death – you have held my hand and I have held yours.
As a dance artist, you are my perfect muse, and like water you nourish creativity without bias or prejudice. Thank you Magali for your commitment and generosity throughout the years. I will forever look forward to our next installment and will be always “happy to see you”!
With respect and admiration,
